These parts are then processed separately in operations 2 and 3, respectively, which have scrap rates of q1 = 0.05 and q3 = 0.10. Inspection stations 4 and 5 sort good units from bad for the two parts. Then the parts are reassembled in operation 6, which has a fraction defect rate q6 = 015. Final inspection station 7 sorts good units from bad. The desired final output quantity is 100,000 units.
