Michael Fullan's work in two current research sources tells the story about how schools are led by "drivers." The leadership that is needed right now is not only a leader who is a transformational leader but also a leader that works alongside every stakeholder in a collaborative structure to improve learning conditions and outcomes for all students. This kind of true collaboration has the right "drivers," as Fullan refers to them; they are drivers that guide the school and the education received by the strength of collaboration and lastly, by sustaining collaboration, as a team for students.
This week, you will read about Fullan's ideas (see attachment below). As you read this week's article and the one in Week 3 about his process, keep in mind what you know about your own setting now and what Fullan's model could mean in your setting. Please share your perspectives and insights as you continue through this course and indicate in your postings how Fullan's model can impact how you approach situations in education. Postyour position on what good leadership means to you. Provide an example of how a strong leadership style of a district-level educational administrator impacts collaborative facilitation and how Fullan's model might impact collaborative facilitation. Explain how your own leadership style will support you in becoming an effective collaborative facilitator or enhance your skills as an effective collaborative facilitator. Select a current article depicting quality leadership to support your response. Remember to use APA, 6th edition, for your citations.
