Question: The file below contains an article about a woman who was, on the basis of a comment she made on Facebook, ticketed for admittedly(?) taking an unlicensed dog to a Chicago dog park.

Work in pairs (form them however you like, including by using this discussion forum), read the article and find the quotation of the post that got her in trouble. Try to symbolize her statement ("...I haven't bought a pass and been bringing Ginger there...") as the park authorities interpreted it and then try to symbolize it as she intended it.

Check the two symbolizations (what the author was trying to say and what the authorities thought she was saying) for equivalence. Under what circumstances, if any, could the sentences have differing truth values? Try to (unambiguously) express in English what she intended to say in her post.

It might help with your symbolization of the ambiguity to think about the symbolization of the rule for the dog park: If you brought your dog (Ginger) then you bought a pass. Let D stand for 'you brought your dog' and P for 'you bought a pass.' What does it take to violate that rule? (How do you make the conditional false?)
