I was watching the HCA I was supposed to be shadowing, I noticed that during morning care everything was happening so much faster than expected. The first day I got to take care of my resident on my own was their shower day. I hadn't watched my HCA give any residents showers or assist in showers, so I was really nervous to assist in my first shower. I took my resident to their bathroom and helped them take their clothes off. What should I say in this story situation? My resident is a one person transfer so getting them from their wheelchair to the shower chair wasn't too difficult, especially since they were able to hold themself up. I was very cautious about the water temperature, making sure it wasn't too hot or cold. My resident wasn't able to wash themself so I assisted them with that. After the shower I assisted with my resident getting dried and dressed.
