A company wants to offer their employees a three-day training program on team building and a two-day program on problem solving. They have requested at least 8 training sessions on team building and at least 10 training sessions on problem solving. Furthermore, the total number of training sessions offered must be 25.
The training consultant has 84 days of training time available.
Each training session on team building costs $10,000 and each training session on problem solving costs $8,000.
Formulate a Linear Programming Model that can be used to determine the number of training sessions on team building and the number of training sessions on problem solving that should be offered in order to minimize total cost.
Identify the varibles, formulate the objective function, determine all the constraints as linear inequalities, clearly identify the critical region, solve the coordinates of the corner points of the critical region and identify which corner points minimize the objective function.
Given the following sequential game: Solve for the Sub-Game Perfect equilibrium for the above game. Explain how it was solved.
Calculate the mean, median, mode, variance, and standard deviation for the numeric data.
What are the fin efficiency and effectiveness? If there are 125 such fins per meter of tube length what is the rate of heat transfer per unit length of tube?
Use the Euler's theorem and derive the relationship between the marginal rate of technical substitution and the marginal products of labor and capital for Cobb-Douglas production functions.
Using the Poisson PMF, when the mean is 6, what is P(X=9), Using the binomial PMF, when p=.6 and n=8 what is P(X=7)?
For the parallel-pipe system of Fig, each pipe is cast iron, and the pressure drop p1 - p2 = 3 lbf/in2. Compute the total flow rate between 1 and 2 if the fluid is SAE 10 oil at 20°C.
What is the initial rate of cooling? How long does it take for the wafer to reach a temperature of 50°C? Comment on how the relative effects of convection and radiation vary with time during the cooling process.
Compute an eigenvector for each of the eigenvalues found in part (a). Be sure to scale the eigenvectors so that each is a unit vector (i.e., vT.v = 1 for each eigenvector v).
For a maximization problem, assume that a constraint is binding. If the original amount of a resource is 4 lbs., and the range of feasibility (sensitivity range) for this constraint is from 3 lbs. to 6 lbs., increasing the amount of this resource ..
Find the probability density function.
Assume that the firm increases its expenditure on variable inputs by $63 (1 %) to $6,363. Show that the level of output increases by λ ∗ 63.
A can in the shape of a right circular cylinder is to be made to hold 1 L of oil. Find the dimensions of the can that will minimize the cost of the metal to manufacture the can.
