The admission cost for a movie premier at the local theater was is $8.00 for children and $10.00 for adults. On the first night, 250 people arrived for the premier. The premier made $2,150.00 the first night. How many children and adults attended the movie premier?

"X" will signifies the number of adults and the variable "y" will signifies the number of children that attended the movie premier. Since we already know how much the movie premier earned, we can assume the final equation will look like this for the total number: x + y = 250. We can also assume that the total amount of income equation would like similar to: 10x + 8y = $2,150.00. Having these equations available, we are capable of solving for the amount of children and adults that attended the premier and them we can confirm accuracy with the total income equation.
