Question

Buffy, a cocker spaniel mix, age 14, has been brought to the clinic. The owner reports that buffy has been urinating frequently, and he has seen blood in Buffy's urine on and off for about 2 weeks. Buffy appears to strain a bit upon urination and has been urinating more frequently than in the past, but otherwise seems "normal, but not quite himself, you know, a little tired," according to the owner. The HHHHHMM score is 40. The initial examination involved palpation and a rectal examination, and an initial suspicion of bladder cancer was suggested.
