Imagine you are staff members in the purchasing department of Manitowoc, one of the world's largest crane makers. As described in the article, Manitowoc is having trouble getting parts from a supplier in Poland. According to Robert Ward, the company's corporate purchasing officer, the result of the parts shortage has been "a lot of angry customers." Imagine Mr. Ward has assigned you and your team to get these parts flowing to the company's plant in Lyon, France, within 30 days. Using a mind mapping approach on a large sheet of paper, develop a two-level WBS for this project. This means you will consider deliverables and their subordinate work packages. You may go to a third level if you wish, but two levels will meet the requirement of this assignment. Consider ideas presented in the article, but go beyond these to bring in your own ideas. Keep in mind all stakeholders involved, including suppliers and their extended supply chains, customers, the crane assembly plant in France, and others. (If you consider these stakeholders, you will be more likely to develop a comprehensive WBS.) When you have completed the WBS, convert it to an outline. Submit a photo of your group gathered around your completed mind map, a photo of the mind map, and a copy of the outline.
