To conduct the experiment, the team drove 50 volunteers, one at a time, to a flea market in a van, and one of the team members, would either yawn (treatment) or not yawn (no treatment) during the ride. It was randomly determined ahead of time whether or not Kari yawned. Therefore, the 50 people were split into two randomly assigned groups.
