1- Facial expressions and gestures are going to be very instrumental in my speech. Having a speech about the art of filmmaking, gestures would greatly help me show the audience how hands on filmmaking is. Having a visual speech allows the audience to not only hear what I'm saying but to see it as well. Facial expressions will express to the audience my passion and enthusiasm for filmmaking. If the audience sees me as someone who enjoys what I'm talking about, they will have an easier time paying attention, and will enjoy the speech that much more.
2- Many elements can enhance a speech. This includes gestures and facial expressions. More than half of the speaker's impact depends on the use of body language. Gestures encompass the motion of body limbs such as the hands. As a speaker, you should use your hands to express an emotion, emphasize a point, release tension and engage your audience in general. Facial expression consists of the movements of the eyes, mouth and facial muscles to build a connection with the audience. Facial expression should be used appropriately; otherwise, they can undermine a speaker's every word. Eye focus is one of the most important element of facial expression. Facial expression helps in communicating a speaker's sincerity and credibility. In addition, facial expression can also help in conveying your feelings as a speaker such as passion for a subject and depth of concern for an audience. As a speaker, if you care deeply about your material, you will use your entire body to support the message.
