The Opportunity Discovery (OD) report builds on Assignment 1: Elevator pitch summary and Assignment 2: Value proposition. In Assignment 1, you identified a problem or gap in the market and discussed how you might address that gap by providing a solution-factoring in the impact of the competition and how your solution may be profitable. With Assignment 2. you developed a value proposition that outlined how your proposed solution creates additional value for your targeted market.
This assignment requires you to report on the second cycle of learning in your customer discovery and validation design process. It requires you to do so by building on the findings and feedback you received from the previous two assignments. Your report will focus on offering a solution to the problem by directly applying the concepts covered throughout the unit. The Opportunity Discovery is part of your pivot and iterate considerations. Pivots and iterations are a crucial part of the customer discovery process.
Based on insights acquired from customers, your startup idea thus evolves. In the early stages you focused on testing the problem, while this Opportunity Discovery report moreover requires you to test the solution.
