There are 5 main ethical issues I would want to discuss here.
1. To begin with, we might have seen there are lot of discrimination cases that occurs in various businesses. It is illegal to discriminate someone based on their caste, colour, religion, sex, disability, nationality marital status and age in many countries. We don't expect anyone at the workplace to do that, however, some people hold prejudices towards such thing.
2. The second ethical issue in XYZ ltd. is sexual harassment. This issue is discussed less at the workplace because of the fear of losing career and facing peer pressure. Sexual harassment should be taken very seriously. Mostly, women are facing this kind of issues in the workplace. However, workforce are now very aware of such things since movements like #MeToo took place.
3. Moving on to the third issue, which is, misuse of the company's time and resources. Company's time is very important factor because it determines if the company can achieve results faster than its competitors. XYZ ltd. provides software and internet services to the employees so that they can invest their hard work for achieving organizational goals. However, the misuse and usage of such resources for personal benefits has been causing the company huge losses in the form of lost time and efficiency.
4. The fourth issue is consumer fraud. Consumer fraud occurs when unlawful practices are done by consumers. The most basic consumer fraud occurs when someone claims their money back for the goods or services provided. There are different types of consumer fraud, some of them are friendly fraud, price arbitrage, return fraud, wardrobing and returning stolen goods. One consumer fraud which is very popular these days in Canada is fraudulently using and claiming pandemic relief fund from the government. The last but not the least is privacy issues. Every employee has sensitive or private data which gets stored online. Employers' data and even consumer information is collected to extreme extents that can cause privacy issues for respective parties. Storing private and sensitive data online is a very useful technology until it is used for non-business purposes. Cybersecurity needs to be implanted in business companies so that employee, company, and consumer data can be kept safe and secure.
