Outline - Project management is a highly regarded discipline in engineering. It experienced a number of changes or "natural evolution" in the last century, influenced by both industry and academia. These changes have promoted a better understanding about the nature of the problems faced by project manager. Different research studies have contributed to the evolution of the project management body of knowledge.
The aim of this assignment is to understand the impacts of recent research studies in the field of Project Management. To achieve it, you are required to prepare a report (2,500 words) based on ONE of the following research topics in Project Management:
- Production Planning and Control,
- Contract Management,
- Lean Construction, or
- Human or psychological issues
The report must include at least 15 references from journal articles, not conference articles. Please, be critic and creative in the report writing. As a guide for your writing, the following aspects are suggested to be addressed:
Description of the selected research topic, underlying concepts and principles, main characteristics of its framework (at conceptual level, of course), context of origin, among other things.
Influence or impact of the selected research topic in project management (e.g. in civil engineering, software development, new technologies, airplanes, etc.).
Examples of application of the selected research topic in the context of project management.
