Tyler is VP of Public Relations for ZDA, which is a large manufacturing facility in town. ZDA sponsors a children's charity which provides children with sports equipment so that they can afford to play competitive sports. This charity also has a summer camp which enables children from poorer households to experience camping. Tyler is well known within the community and is seen as the public face of ZDA. On Friday, Tyler was charged with possession of child pornography. It appears that he spent his free time at home downloading files. There is no evidence that he downloaded any such files at work or when he was working. Over the weekend, Tyler admitted his guilt to the Board of Directors. The CEO has asked you for an action plan. You advise:

1. Even though Tyler is charged, he is innocent until proven guilty. Therefore he should be put on a paid leave of absence pending the trial.

2. Tyler's reputation within the community and his role in PR for the company means that the company's reputation will be seriously affected by these charges. Since Tyler has admitted guilt, the company can terminate him for cause.

3. As disgusting as Tyler's actions are, he did them on his free time. Therefore, the company has no right to terminate Tyler's employment for cause.

4. ZDA cannot terminate Tyler but under the circumstances they can demote him and warn him that any further similar conduct will lead to his termination.

5. ZDA can terminate Tyler but it risks alientating the community because he is so well regarded.
