Learning Activity: Risk Assessment

You learnt the typical inclusions in a risk register (page 417 of PMBOK). Your study in this course can be viewed as a project. It satisfies the definition of a project, in that it is a temporary endeavour to create a unique result, product, and outcome. Perform a risk assessment for that project and record the risks identified in a risk register that contains all the inclusions listed on page 417 of PMBOK. For each risk, develop a response strategy.

For example, if you are an international student, changes in exchange rate may be considered as a risk. If Australian dollar becomes strong against the currency of your home country, then that event is a threat. Evaluate the likelihood and the impact of that threat. What would you do as a response to that threat?

Think as many risks as possible and record them in the risk register you developed. Post your risk register on Module 3.2 Risk assessment discussion forum. Read other students' posts. If they have made an error in their risk register, or if you find their understanding of the risk register inclusions are not correct, provide constructive feedback to their risk registers.
