Assignment:
The City of Gustaville has decided to fund and support the establishment of 4 community gardens within the city.
Council members believe community gardens promote sustainable living, community engagement and social cohesion, provide healthy food options, and environmental conservation. Additionally, community gardens can provide a range of benefits such as improved mental and physical health, increased access to fresh produce, and the opportunity for residents to learn new skills.
A dedicate team will be established to manage this project
The budget for the project is $1.2 million.
Existing council owned land will be used for the 4 gardens.
As the project is intended to bring local residents together it will be referred to as the 'Gustaville Gardens' (Project)
The total project length is 2 years. The initial project will go for 12 months, followed by a reduced team for maintenance for a further 12 months. Then the project will formally end and be transitioned to the City of Gustaville - Garden Maintenance Team.
Some deliverables are :
1. A comprehensive garden design plan includes layout, plant selection, hardscape features, and detailed drawings or blueprints.
2. Clear documentation of site preparation activities, such as soil testing, grading, and necessary earthwork.
3. A planted garden with trees, shrubs, flowers, grasses, and other vegetation is typically organized according to the design plan.
4. Constructed or installed hardscape elements, such as pathways, patios, benches, pergolas, gazebos, fountains, or sculptures.
5. The installed irrigation system's documentation includes plans, equipment, and specifications.
6. Functioning garden lighting system with documented specifications and design.
7. Installed safety features, such as fencing, gates, and signage, to ensure the well-being of garden visitors.
8. Comprehensive documentation of the project's progress, including photos, videos, and written reports.
9. A plan outlining the garden's ongoing maintenance requirements, including watering schedules, pruning guidelines, and pest management strategies.
10. Document of community engagement efforts, such as workshops, educational programs, or volunteer participation.
11. An overview of the project's financial expenditures and a final budget report that compares actual costs to the initial budget estimates.
12. A timeline plan that shows the project's milestones, including critical task start and completion dates.
13. A report or assessment of the project's impact on the local environment, including any efforts to promote sustainability and biodiversity.
14. Surveys or feedback from the community, volunteers, and visitors to assess their satisfaction and suggest improvements.
15. Documentation of permits obtained and compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and licenses.
16. Reports from safety inspections to ensure that the garden is safe for visitors.
Risk Identification
