Question: Kirksville College in Missouri was a nonprofit corporation providing health-care services, medical education, and medical research. Service Employees Local 50 filed three representation petitions seeking to represent separate units composed, respectively, of all technical, all professional, and all service/ maintenance employees at the Kirksville Health Center, an unincorporated subsidiary of the college. The college also had several affiliated hospitals and rural clinics within a sixty-mile radius of the main campus.
