Uber has embarked on a new project to offer data labelling services to any business interested in this service.
Uber is now offering this service because of the data labelling capability it has developed in-house for its own suit of technology ventures, including Uber taxis, Uber Eats and Uber Freight. The business need
Uber have decided that offering data labelling services presents a substantial new business opportunity. As a result of this decision, you have been appointed as the Project Manager within the "Uber for Business" subsidiary to bring this service to life.
The Project Owner is the General Manager of Uber for Business division. The Project Sponsor is the Chief Financial Officer for this division.
Your Project team is resourced from staff within the Uber for Business division, along with access Uber's central IT function. Given the large scale of this project, you have also been allocated three Project Facilitators, with 100% of their time dedicated to this project.
The project
As Project Manager, you are responsible for making the Uber data labelling service, operational, to third party businesses. You have been allocated a budget of $ 10 million and a timeframe of 6 months. You are under pressure to deliver, as Uber is aware of the value of "first mover" advantage in the technology sector.
The Business case for this project has already been prepared and approved by the Project Owner (General Manager)

The Business Analytics life cycle has the following stages:
The Discovery Stage can involve identifying and assessing the business need.
The Data Preparation Stage requires accessing the data to be used in the project, making sure the data is relevant (fit for purpose) and cleaned for the task at hand.
The "Model Planning Stage" and "Model Building" stages require the Project Manager to liaise with relevant stakeholders, including Data Scientists, to ensure the data labeling business best serves 3rd party businesses.
The "Communication of results" stage includes how best to communicate the output of the service to
customers, as well as internal stakeholders
The "Operationalisation" stage includes tasks to make Uber data Labelling, a viable business.
