My workplace seems to have an atmosphere very unhealthy based on what was of the Work Environment Assessment. Poor communication, a lack of respect for fellow workers, and a lack of support among members of team are among the signs of a hostile work environment. Unfortunately, this is a challenge that has historically plagued the field of nursing (McDermott et al., 2021). A high degree of stress and an overall unease at work are caused by these factors. One of the factor on the test that I could speak to is respect from fellow workers ("Clark Workplace Inventory," 2015),
One such example happened just the other day as a doctor I work closely with asked me if "I was slow" because I did not finish the computer tasks as fast as she would like. As soon as this happened, I reported it to the manager, but the doctor had already called to complain. Therefore, no action was taken by the management team. I have a critical concern with the doctor the next day when she apologized for her behavior. I find the behavior of not only nurses but the entire healthcare team to be appalling.
Individuals, groups, and organizations may suffer as a result of disrespect in healthcare settings (Clark, 2019). Therefore, it isAn atmosphere that lacks the components of a productive and good workplace is indicated by a lack of civility and toxic dynamics. Improving communication, mutual respect, and cooperation are critical steps in creating a more supportive and civil work culture. imperative that as a field we must work on this predicament.
