Question: Violence in schools is increasing. Parents and students need to feel that schools are safe places to be. We want to outlaw possession of a firearm within 1,000feet of a school. People could easily get sick from food that getscontaminated while it's being processed. We want federal inspectors to be able to access factoriesthat are making food.Racial discrimination is wrong, and it needs to stop. In some places, people of color can't find a restaurantthat will serve them or a hotel to stay in. We want to make racial discrimination illegal. Young children are working long hours in dangerousfactory conditions. To stop children from beingexploited, we want to make it illegal for employersto hire children under age 14.If a state did this, it would be using its police power to protect citizens'.
