2.Learned Helplessness vs Learned Optimism

Overview
Martin Seligman's early work emphasized the concept of learned helplessness. Beginning in the late 1990's, he shifted the focus of his research and practice and became the leading pioneer in the Positive Psychology movement. From there he began studying the same phenomena from a different perspective - learned optimism.

4. The Big Five Personality Dimensions represent one of the most widely accepted perspectives for explaining personality.

Take a look at Gilad Feldman's blog to see some brief explanations and examples of each of the dimensions.

For each of the traits in the five (5) dimensions, provide an example that illustrates that character. Your examples may be real people or fictional characters from books or movies. Give a brief explanation of why you chose each person.

Your paper should be between 700-1000 words including all examples. Please refer to the rubric for more detailed guidelines and requirements.
