For the past ten years, Milton has been Jamal's chief sales agent. Milton has arranged orders; negotiated prices, quantities, and shipping; and collected payment from the customers. Nancy is a frequent customer. On a regular basis, Nancy makes deals with Jamal via Milton, and has made her payments to Milton. On May 1, Jamal fires Milton. Although Jamal intends to tell all his customers of this development, he only has the time to notify half of the customers on May 10, and he plans to notify the other half on May 20. On May 15, Nancy (who had not been notified of Milton's termination) arranges a large order with Milton and pays him $3,000 cash for it. Milton takes the money and flees. Is Jamal obligated to honor the deal Nancy made with Milton?
