Casey, a 4-year old male Labrador mix, was the unofficial greeter of Dr.Scott Mueller, a local veterinarian at the pet clinic, in Hingham MA. Casey, a rescue dog was playing with a small child under a desk in the vet's reception area when Casey bit off a portion of the child ear and the boy was required to under go serveral reconstructive surgeries in addition to stitches. Plymouth County officials considered the injuries and as such had sufficient cause for what is known as dangerous dog destruction. They order for the dog to be euthanized, Does the town of Hingham's impending action violate federal law? Which law? If so, what argurement would you make to the court in your effort to save Casey?
