Question: Developing an understanding of the complex relationships between parents and children is an important part of this course. As professionals in your chosen field of study, you will be expected to identify, describe, and analyze the different challenges facing today's families, identify and utilize methods for referral and assistance that are linked to their needs, and advocate for children, families, and the profession. Students will write a research paper on a current topic affecting the parent/child relationship and will create an accompanying brochure or infographic related to their selected topic. Students will choose one Hot Topic facing parents and children today. The topic can be a subtopic of a larger main topic. (For example, if the main topic is Adoption, a subtopic could be International Adoption, Domestic Adoption, Same Sex Adoption, etc.)
