Capstone Mini-Case on Project Administration
This mini-case involves the development of a major renovation project. The estimated hard cost for the project is approximately $10 million. Your firm has been hired to be the Project Manager for the Owner. Therefore the project delivery system is Project Management. Your company will be having a project management contract on a fee basis, still to be negotiated. However, your firm has been asked to develop a contract with the Owner and you have also been asked to proceed with the work. Shortly after being awarded the contract, your firm was asked by the Owner to solicit and select an Architect. The Architect will be selected for the conceptual design only and then an estimate will be prepared for the Owner's Board of Directors. After approval by the Board, your firm can proceed with having the architect proceed and work toward having a contractor on board. Eventually other consultants and a general contractor will need to be selected. a. Your task is to set up the entire game plan or master plan for the complete project administration of this project from the conceptual stage to the close-out stage.
