Assignment

For this assignment produce a second annotated bibliography, this time of three sources.

For this annotated bibliography, each of the sources should enact a different genre. We can imagine the notion of genre broadly here. As we've discussed, genre is enacted to meet the varying needs and expectations of different audiences and institutions. We can imagine, then, that a scholarly source and a popular source are enacting a different set of expectations based on their intended audience and purpose. We can also think of something like a Ted Talk as enacting a different genre as a long form documentary; a Ted Talk is meant to be quick, punchy, and accessible, whereas a full-length documentary might be much more in depth. These different genres enact different conventions, work to achieve different aims, and are presented in different mediums. While none of these sources need necessarily be "scholarly" they should at least be reputable, or, if they're not reputable, you should explain briefly how a non-reputable source will work rhetorically in your writing.

For each source, write a two-paragraph annotation in which you:

1) Briefly summarize the source, it's claims and purpose, and identify the genre that it is working to enact.

2) How you see the source connecting to your research project, and how you anticipate using it in your research.
