Question: An organisation uses ratings from multiple subordinates to rate the performance of managers in the organisation. Katie is a female manager who has 10 subordinates. Even though gender is unrelated to how well a person performs as a manager in this organisation, half of the subordinates gave Katie a high rating because she is female, whereas the other half gave her a low rating because she is female. Based on the information provided in this course, is this a problem with (i) the reliability of the performance appraisal system, (ii) the validity of the performance appraisal system, or both the reliability and the validity of the performance appraisal system? For each of the two concepts (i.e., reliability and validity), make sure to explain why you think this is or is not a problem
