Racial equality recommendations for the restaurant industry.
1. Avoid Racial Jokes: Show your disinterest in the joke and tell him it's rude, and if it's still a racial joke with you, then you can report it back to your manager or supervisor.
2. Refusing to hire people from other races: Collect evidence and report to EEO(Equal Employment Opportunity)
3. Preventing promotions of workers from different races: Collect evidence and report to EEO(Equal Employment Opportunity). Evidence could be from yourself, such as investigating the other races in the top management of the restaurant.
4. Bullying and isolation in the workplace: Report to the manager, If the manager still ignores this behaviour, report it to the Australian Human Rights Commission. According to the Racial Discrimination law Act 1975 (RDA) , the person concerned will be legally responsible
5. Unfair treatments because of differences in race: You can make a complaint if you have been treated unfairly at work.
