Solar thermal plants and photovoltaic systems both use the power of the sun to generate energy, but the technologies are quite different.
Your project is to learn how photovoltaic cells and solar thermal plants work by drawing and labeling a diagram of each. You can either draw each by hand or use the drawing tools from an application such as Word or PowerPoint. You may copy and paste the parts from a website; however, you must provide your own labels. Be sure to label at least five parts for each system, including the following:
Photovoltaic CellsArray
Panel
Cell
Dopant-enriched silicon
Solar thermal plantHeat exchanger
Turbine
Receiver

On a separate sheet of paper, you need a description of how sunlight converts to energy using the labels from your diagram. Provide a list of websites you used for obtaining your information. Be sure to use reputable websites.
