Case: Mr. K is a 46-year-old male who is at a health clinic for a yearly checkup and is requesting information on weight loss. He currently weighs 325lbs and his height is 5'8", his BMI is 49.4 and his waist circumference is 46 inches. He states he has tried every diet and loses weight but always regains it. He rarely cooks, eats most meals out at restaurants and often skips breakfast and lunch. He states he does not exercise and has a sedentary desk job. He gets two 30 minute breaks at work but usually spends that time looking at his phone.
A sample of his daily diet:
Breakfast: coffee, 2 TBSP creamer, usually sleeps in and does not have time for breakfast
Lunch: Potato chips and a 20 ounce coke
Dinner: 12 ounces Steak, 2 cups mashed potatoes and 3 slices of white bread with 3 Tbsp. butter, 20 ounce coke and one ice cream sandwich
Snack: Mr. K eats a lot of his calories in the evening, snacking on chips and cookies as he watches tv in the evening
Mr. K states this is typical of what he eats most days.
