Assignment: Agile Project Management
Timeboxing
Most of us are motivated by deadlines. As the deadline approaches, we might put more and more effort into an activity. Perhaps you wait until saturday night, or sunday to begin your critical thinking assignment. At work, such a delay in starting an activity may jeopardize a project. One method used in agile projects to manage time is timeboxing. Read the interactive lecture to find out more about timeboxing. Do research. Consider looking on the internet at lucidchart, clockify or other tools to help with timeboxing.
A. How is Agile planning different than waterfall planning?
B. What is the reason behind fixed Sprint duration?
C. What is timeboxing with Agile?
D. What project are you working now that is timeboxed, or what project can you find in research that is timeboxed? Explain how timeboxing is applied in that project.
E. How might you apply timeboxing to your personal life?
F. Review at least three tools that one might use to capture a time box. Explain the positive and negative aspects of each and explain which one you would suggest as useful in your work environment.
G. Include a timeboxing example from your recent past as an appendix to your paper. Include the plan, your action, length of time, and what the required output was. Finally, your timebox should also have an evaluation as to your timely completion, or not, and why.
