Assignment:
Your essay must include all of the following:
The Introduction:

2. In a statement or two, tell me the communication goal you chose (e.g., resolve conflict with family member, improve relationship with significant other, help a friend in need etc.)
3. List the three (3) course concepts you chose to reach your communication goal
4. Provide a thesis statement previewing the main points of your paper
The body:
1. Definition of each course concept you have chosen (use class notes, class textbook and/or other scholarly material)
2. Answer the question: 'Why did you choose your three course concepts to improve upon and utilize for your communication goal?"
3. Brief discussion on your communication goal: What is it? Why did you choose it? Explain the situation, provide some background
4. Describe the three different situations in which you utilized the skills outside of class this semester. Provide details and be specific (what was said between you and the person with whom you practiced, when and where the situation took place, etc.)
5. Discuss your evaluation of effectiveness overall (e.g., did you reach goal? partially reach goal? etc.)
The conclusion:
1. Discuss how your implicit personal theory of communication has changed, if at all. How would you like to change it even more?
2. Brief discussion on your blueprint for the quality of your communication in the future (e.g., In the future this is how I plan to communicate so I can...)
3. Summarize your main points
4. End with a catchy/powerful last sentence.
