How does teen-oriented television program represent young people and what possible effects does this TV have on viewers?

Directions:
Choose any television program specifically aimed at teenage audiences (programs from MTV, the CW, or Nickelodeon) and examine the way young people are represented. What ideologies are present? Is any of the material objectionable? What ideas of youth are presented? Provide concrete examples from the selected program in order to support your claims. What possible impact might this have on audiences? In order to prove this you will need to do some scholarly research on the specific impact of different kinds of content on young people. You should use two additional scholarly sources in addition to television and web content regarding your program.

Papers should include a clear thesis statement, introduction, body, and conclusion. Claims should be clear and well supported (e.g. by examples, quotations, etc.). Papers should be well-organized and closely proofread. In addition, papers should include a works cited list using APA style.
