Question: How do/might ageism, (dis)ability and other sources of intersectionality affect EITHER an older adult I know OR how do they affect me now?

The name of the reflection pretty much says it all, but in case you aren't sure how to tackle this, below are a few suggestions. Use those that are helpful; ignore the others:

Decide if you prefer to write about intersectionality in the context of an older or younger person. If you choose to write about an old person, it should be someone whom you know well enough that you can give examples of "isms" that have shaped their life.

Revisit one of the power and privilege wheels from this week's slides (along with other pre-work and in class materials) and identify the specific identities you will focus on; I recommend 3-4.

If you choose to write about how intersectionality affects an old person, you do need to include age as one of the identities.
If you choose to write about how intersectionality affects you now, you do not need to include age as an identity, but you may if it is one of your most important identities.
