Assignment: Research Proposal
Your research proposal should examine a topic of interest to you. This topic should be a culture-bearing topic. In other words, the question you ask and ultimately answer in your essay should handle concepts/ideas that are of some cultural significance in 2018. Your final research proposal should be an MLA formatted essay of at least 500 words.
Use the following form to create a rough outline of your research proposal. Remember to answer each of the questions listed in the outline document below. All of these questions/answers will be significant to your research.
Who? What? Where? When? Why? What does your audience need to know about your topic to fully comprehend your research question?

What kind of information will you need? How are you going to gather the information you need? What key search terms will you use? What types of sources will provide the best information for your topic?
Research Methods - How will you accomplish your research?
How will you accomplish your research goals and meet deadlines? Create a schedule.
Timeline - You must establish a timeline, even if this timeline changes.
How will you build your ethos (credibility) as a writer? How do you plan to make a solid argument?
How will you address (rebut) research that disagrees with you?

Why is your topic relevant to our society/culture/classroom? How does your argument contribute to the conversation?
Conclusion - Becoming a part of the rhetorical situation
