CONCLUSION-

Future reverse logistics in the military requires a great amount of team effort making informed decisions through planning and communication. The United States Army have made changes to their logistic operations, methods, and organizations to ensure reverse logistics is one of the priority. As stated earlier, the United States Army have professionals who are trained and certified on an automated system called GCSS-Army to ensure end-to-end process is enforced. Reverse logistics systems are vital for the proper removal and disposal of materials. For this reason, reverse logistics deserves more attention by logisticians in the United States Army and all other partnerships in the war zone and at home front.

INTRODUCTION (REVISED)-

Failing to realize the depth in cost and loss of equipment, Army units were forced to learn the process of reverse logistics as defined by the Reverse Logistics Executive Counsels. Reverse logistics is defined as the process of planning, implementing, controlling cost efficiency and effective flow of raw materials, in-process inventory, finished goods and related information from the point of consumption to the point of origin for the purpose of recapturing value or proper disposal (Donnahoe, 2012). The Executive Counsels realized a process was needed for reverse logistics to work in a manner in which retrograde was the outcome. While reverse logistics management is difficult to execute in the United States Army, the retrograde process has made it easier for units to recycle and reset their equipment
