Assessment Task - Analyse the following case in the light of the tasks given at the end. Total word count should be 3000.
In December 2019, Salim purchased a tablet with 12 months extended warranty for 450 OMR. In May 2020, the tablet could not be charged and switched on. Salim thus brought the tablet to the service centre and paid 120 OMR for a new battery as the battery was not covered under warranty. The issue reoccurred another three times, with the tablet heating up and the battery draining quickly. However, the staff from the service centre claimed that the tablet was fully functioning and only offered Salim an additional three months warranty. Till date, the battery for the tablet remains defective. Salim was very disturbed and felt cheated by the company. He wrote a letter to the company regarding his problem but no satisfactory reply he received from the company. Now he wants to report his case to consumer law authorities and looking for justice.
