1. Identify and explain the steps in the communications process.

2. There are four (4) common barriers to communication. Identify two (2) of these barriers, and provide an example to help illustrate and provide an explanation for each.

3. Perceptions can clearly influence how people communicate and how they actually behave toward others. Identify four (4) perceptual tendencies that can cause adverse effects to working relationships. Select one of those perceptual tendencies and explain it while also providing an example.

4. You have been hired by a large corporation that has been experiencing various communication issues. A huge gap is forming between upper management and their employees. Many employees are complaining that they are not clear about some of the directives that upper management is sending out or that they hear about them too late with little background information provided. Employees feel that their voices aren't being heard and that when they do communicate, little or no feedback is being sent back. Also, when there are new hires, no training is provided on proper communication protocols so some new employees are feeling very isolated. Your expertise is required to identify various strategies that could potentially improve company communication. Identify and explain four strategies that you recommend in order to facilitate more effective communication and why you recommended them.
