Question

Mr. Robert Caron is a 57-year-old male who is requiring assessment for symptoms of COVID - 19. He was experiencing a fever and a cough and difficulty breathing. He traveled home from Florida a week ago where he has attended a wedding but he had no contact with covid-19 positive. He states that he's worried about his wife because his wife has heart disease and said she didn't go to Florida but I'm with her right now. Mr. Caron has some arthritis in his knees and has been taking ibuprofen for three years and said that it works for him all the time. Upon assessment his temp: 37.8 C. He then swabs inside his nose to test for the covid-19 virus. After the swab, he was advised to go home and self-isolate for 14 days included his wife, and not leave the house for any reason and the public health will be in touch with him with the result. Mr. Caron was advised to self-monitor while at home and if he experiencing chest pain, increasing shortness of breath, elevated temperature, and worsening cough warrant urgent assessment by the physician in the E.R. 72 hours later, Robert is experiencing increasingly severe symptoms. He contacted public health and was advised to be assessed in the emergency department. He was assessed at the E.R and his temp: 39.1; HR: 110; RR: 24; BP: 150/90 and O2 sat: 91% on room air. He was immediately admitted to the hospital.
