A 55 year old school teacher begins to experience a cough which becomes more intense. He starts having chest tightness. The teacher has a history of asthma. He used his rescue inhaler with no relief. While driving he was started having chest pain, began sweating profusely and then light headed with difficulty breathing. He then passed out. When paramedics came, EKG showed ST segment elevation in the anterior leads (V3 and V4), pulse was shallow and respirations were 10/minute. In Er troponin level was 13ng/l and CKlevel was 265 U/L. What is the possible diagnosis? Discuss the maladaptive physiological response to each presenting symptoms.
