After giving several examples of fractal patterns found in nature, Professor Woo said, "There is a mathematical reality woven into the fabric of the universe you share with winding rivers, towering trees, and raging storms." Please give your own example of a pattern found in nature that you find exciting. It can be a fractal pattern or some other kind of pattern. It would be extra cool if you posted a picture of the pattern.

Professor Woo said that mathematics helps us solve problems by combining insight and imagination. In other words, solving problems mathematically and otherwise is not just about applying sterile rules and laws. It is about combining the rational and the transrational (not irrational, but instead the more-than-just-rationall!).
