Evaluate the maximum height of the firework from the given function.
In celebration of Canada's birthday on July 1, a ship in the harbor sends up fireworks from the deck of the ship. The height h of a rocket firework, in meters, above the water, after t seconds is give by the function h = - 4.9t2 + 23.5t + 12
i) Graph the function by hand. Use your graph to answer the following questions. ii) Determine the maximum height of the firework. iii) How long does it take for the firework to reach its maximum height? iv) When do the firework remnants hit the water? v) In this problem what does the y-intercept of the graph represent?
