Disruptive innovation, as stated in Sampere et al. (2016) and Christenson et al. (2015), refers to initially small innovations that later supplant the "existing product or service technology" (as cited in Daft, 2021, p. 372). Recent disruptive technologies include artificial intelligence, streaming video, augmented reality, the Internet of things, blockchain technology, and e-commerce. Conduct some research if you are not familiar with some of these technologies to address the discussion questions.

How might blockchain technology be related to contracts and be a generally disruptive technology innovation?
Does blockchain ensure the privacy or security of data? Why is this important?

Conduct research and discuss the benefits or disadvantages of public blockchains.

Next, think about global competitors, including Apple® and Google®, and Amazon® and AMD®, well-known for being disruptors.
