A family member you know well and respect has come home after multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan while serving in the Army the last few years. He served in a leadership role with oversight of 14 men and 2 women in his unit. While in the military he was promoted multiple times and led people even older than he was. He has been involved in missions in occupied insurgent territory in multiple countries in the Middle East being responsible for equipment worth millions of dollars while putting his live on the line to protect others abroad while serving his country.

He is back in home for a week in the United States. You get together with him at a local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) hall to catch up and see each other. He was 18 when he left and now is one week away from his 21st birthday. He has seen action in hostile territory, has medic training, special firearms training and led people twice his age. Do you feel comfortable offering to buy him dinner and a beer? Do you think the bartender would even ID him before passing a beer over to him?

Even though it is illegal would you still proceed because this is a special case or one off experience or not consider it because he is not 21?
