Question 1: Is Bruce Barton's 1925 book The Man Nobody Knows a "modern" interpretation of Jesus? Or is it another example of getting back to that "old time religion"? Historians, citing Prohibition and the Ku Klux Klan, see the 1920s as a revolt against modern urban life. Others, citing the Harlem Renaissance and emergence of radio and other technologies, see it as the dawn of modernism. How does Man Nobody Knows fit into the picture?
