You are required to engage in some research into the theories underpinning the role of promotion in marketing in order to successfully complete this assignment.

Instructions:

The role of promotion in marketing is defined in terms of achieving the following promotional objectives:
- Providing information
- Increasing awareness
- Stimulating demand
- Activating customers
- Countering competitors

a) Discuss each of these objectives and their purpose in relation to the Wannaburger business.

b) Explain how Wannaburger can achieve these objectives by providing at least two detailed examples of promotional strategies for each.

Discuss the marketing communications process and how ‘noise' can have an effect on its efficiency. How can Wannaburger overcome the effect of ‘noise' and ensure the message it is transmitting is reaching its customers? Give 3 examples.
