Based on the discussion of the key areas above, make recommendations for the UK companies to conduct the negotiations and HRM practices effectively in your selected country. The essay should be 1500 words long (+/- 10%). However, you should not include in your word count the title page or the references list. The main body of the assignment must be word-processed, using ‘Times New Roman' or ‘Arial', 11 point font. It should be 1.5-line spaced, spell-and-grammar checked and include the word-count at the end. 2. Your essay is an academic and not a practitioner focused one. You are therefore required to use mainly peer-reviewed academic journals and text books for your assignment. The journal list on the unit guide is a useful guide but you are not restricted to it.

The assignment should include the items expected in academic assignments (Critical, Reflective, Evaluative, Innovative and Creative). You must use appropriate examples to support your arguments. Provide recommendations to enhance the competitiveness of organisations working in an international working environment. Your assignment should be written in the third person (i.e. This essay focuses on.......). Do not use the first person - ‘I' or ‘we' - in your essay. Your work should be referenced properly, using the Harvard system. Failure to reference correctly, both in the main body and in the Appendices, will result, as a minimum, in marks being deducted and, if appropriate, in the instigation of Assessment Offence procedures.

You must include a references list, produced in the Harvard style, listing all resources consulted in the course of producing the assignment. Preparation and Research Hint 1: use mainly academic journals, but some International Human Resource Management books can be useful additions. In most cases, you will find enough (nearly all you need) from journals. Hint 3: Google Scholar is sometimes a useful addition, albeit not all the materials are accessible. Hint 4: avoid Internet-based websites that lack credibility. There is always enough from journal sources. Avoid Wikipedia completely!. You should by now be well versed in the advantages and pitfalls of using the internet for assignment research. Hint 5: Typically, a good submission would have used no less than 10 academic journals. Obviously, the more you use the stronger your paper is likely to be. Hint 6: Remember to reference all sites properly, using the BU Harvard system. Marks will be deducted for poor referencing.
