Question: The first 2 cultural memberships I'd like you to discuss are ones that you would consider to be internally influential-i.e. you believe that belonging to these cultures has significantly influenced who you are as a person.

The first membership you discuss in this category should be one you would characterize as a meaningful formative influence-one that you that might be described as being associated with "where you came from", or something you were "brought up with". You have wide latitude with what you chose in this category-e.g. traditional cultural associations based on heritage or citizenship, elements like beliefs religion, or long-practiced pursuits, hobbies or lifestyles, etc. are all fine choices-the key criterion here is that you believe this is a longstanding and significant influence.
The second membership you discuss in this category should be something you would identify as a meaningful current influence-being part of this community is a strong influence on who you are right now in some way (e.g. impacts your patterns of behavior, perception, values, self-expression, etc.). Any community that you are a part of, whatever the basis of it (e.g. geographical, interests, beliefs, pursuits, lifestyle, etc.) is an appropriate choice. Again, the key factor is your belief that it is a meaningful current influence
The third cultural membership should be one that you feel is externally influential-you believe that other people believe you to be a member of this community and that membership status is a meaningful factor in how some people currently see you (rightly or wrongly). You can choose a membership here you also believe is internally influential, as long it is also a meaningful factor in how others view you (externally influential).
