You are required to provide evidence of your practical skills in and out of the workplace. Create a portfolio of evidence to include the following documentation to show your compliance against the performance criteria of this unit.
Complete a logbook, found in Additional Documents in the left hand menu, to document your tasks completed . The tasks relate to the performance criteria for this unit. The tasks are to be completed during a period of at least 80 hours of work.
1. Prepare a written piece of information to give to clients regarding allied health services (eg a brochure or a flyer).
2. Collect and collate information from relevant sources such as clients, client's relatives, friends and/or carers, allied health professionals, etc.
3. Check resources (procedures, instructions etc) and undertake a visual inspection of equipment to ensure suitability and working order - include the WHS inspection report
4. Discuss general therapy precautions with a client (eg legislation applicable to client care etc).
5. Ask a health professional via email for clarification and feedback of a client or program
6. Conduct a needs analysis with a client to assist the allied health professional to identify gaps in therapy material resources and develop solutions.
7. Follow instructions to update therapy materials on a regular basis.
8. Give instructions to a work colleague on maintaining statistics and stock levels.
9. Make a booking sheet and make an appointment for a client.
10. Prepare a brief session for work colleagues that provides information on:
- appropriate actions to ensure comfort, safety and privacy of the client (legislation, duty of care)
- hazards and work processes
