Imagine that you are walking in a busy city park with one of your friends. Suddenly, you see someone across the street who seems to be having a heart attack. Think about the bystander effect while answering the following questions.

What would you do? What can you do to increase the chances that someone will come to your assistance quickly? Provide a rationale, taking into account research on altruism and the decision-making process underlying bystander intervention and the attribution theory.
